Briar's Creek
Johns Island, South Carolina

Briar's Creek, SC
Minutes from Charleston and Kiawah Island, this unhurried retreat
is beloved for its ancient forests, rare wildlife and world-class golf.

Description

Briar's Creek is a private golf community on more than 900 acres of scenic Johns Island. The community's estate homesites and its Rees Jones-designed golf course make it a prized Lowcountry location, with easy access to the myriad attractions of Charleston.

Briar's Creek, SC
The course offers golfers open vistas of the Kiawah River and pristine wetlands.

While many golf communities line their fairways and greens with homes, the golf course at Briar's Creek enjoys open vistas of the Kiawah River and pristine wetlands. Homes blend into their wooded sites and most enjoy frontage on a private lake and canal system.

The club's nationally ranked course was designed by Rees Jones and designated the nation's "Best New Private Course in 2002" by Golf Digest. With no tee times ever, players just warm up on the club's world-class practice complex then head out to play.

Briar's Creek, SC
Golf Digest bestowed its "Best New Private Course" award on the Reese Jones layout in 2002.

On cool mornings the early foursomes stop into the Briar's Creek Golf Lodge for a cup of coffee and one of the chef's fresh-baked cookies.

In May of 2008 the community celebrated the grand opening of its 13,000-square-foot clubhouse. The new clubhouse rests between two peninsula greens, on the ninth and the 18th holes, and overlooks both Briar's Creek and the Kiawah River.

Inside, members and guests enjoy gourmet cuisine in the formal dining room. Lounge and bar areas provide more casual gathering spaces. A grand wraparound porch affords panoramic views of the Lowcountry landscape and the club's community dock.

The new clubhouse also boasts conference facilities and a business center, catering to small, intimate groups or larger member functions, as well as fitness and conditioning room.
