Vintage Lowcountry Style
Located along the Southeast Coast of
Georgia, Cooper's Point at Shellman Bluff offers
a lifestyle celebrated in the tradition of Old
Sapelo Southern charm and a vintage Lowcountry
style, plus a stunning golf course.
The Sapelo Hammock Golf
Club at Cooper's Point, which is tucked away on
the marshes of the Sapelo River, is a
challenging and inspired layout that winds
through glorious salt marsh and Live Oak
forests.

The marshes of the Sapelo River embrace the
golf course.
Coastal Georgia Diamond
in the Rough
Conveniently located midway between St.
Simons Island and the charming southern city of
Savannah, Ga., Sapelo Hammock Golf Club truly is
Coastal Georgia's "Diamond in the Rough".
Featuring 18 holes of
championship golf with five sets of tees, Sapelo
Hammock was designed to satisfy the needs of
golfers of any skill level. In fact, the layout
was ranked among the "Top 100 Courses" by
Golf for Women magazine.

Marshes are distractions for your eye and your
game.
Built in 1999, Sapelo
Hammock was the first solo effort of designer
Rusty Simmons, who more than hit the mark his
first time out.
A beautiful coastal layout,
Sapelo Hammock is located on a scenic bluff
overlooking oak-lined fairways and lush,
undulating greens. Adjacent to its new
clubhouse, the course was built along 200 acres
of beautiful marshes, graceful live oaks and
loblolly pine-filled land.

The course is marked by beautiful vistas and
live Oaks.
Located just off the scenic
Sapelo River, the course offers so many
beautiful vistas that it's often difficult for
golfers to keep their mind on the round.
Though relatively tame, the
front nine ends with a demanding par-5. The back
nine is highlighted by the difficult par-3, No.
17, Sapelo Hammock's signature hole.

Take time out to relax on the porch.
The 189-yard hole features
a natural island hammock, and during
construction only trees were removed to protect
the hole's scenic beauty.

Shellman Bluff
A quaint fishing village in the heart of
McIntosh County, Georgia, Shellman Bluff is a
picturesque town with all the character and
charm of American's oldest cities. Simple dirt
roads all inevitably lead to the high bluff that
overlooks the Broro and Julienton rivers.
Once the locations of large
plantations, Shellman Bluff, along with its
sister community, Sutherland Bluff, are deeply
shrouded in history. Shellman Bluff was once
Shellman Plantation, operated by William Cooke
until his death in 1861. Southerland Bluff was
the site of prolific Revolutionary War
shipbuilding and the antebellum Brailsford
Plantation.

Shellman Bluff, the place for fishing and
nature outings.
Today, Shellman Bluff hosts
out-of-the-way, excellent lowcountry seafood
restaurants, and it is the perfect place to
charter a boat for fishing, a nature outing or a
trip to nearby Blackbeard Island National
Wildlife Refuge.
If you ever wonder what the
local mindset is, all you need to do it take a
peek at the menu at Speed's Kitchen, a popular
local restaurant. It quips, "Shellman Bluff,
not a place for fast-lane folks. Ain't got no
red lights, no 4-lanes. We move slow here. Try
it, it's good for your health."
You can live here and enjoy
the wonderful pace of Cooper's Point by
purchasing a homesite with marsh, lagoon, golf
course or wooded views. Prices range $54,900 to
$489,900.
