Description

Indian River Colony Club is an Active Adult Retirement Community for people aged 55 and over. IRCC residents enjoy maintenance free living, 24-hour gated security and a full complement of country club amenities. Once a retirement destination exclusively for military officers, membership has now expanded to include up to twenty percent former enlisted and non-military personnel over the age of 21 who desire a friendly and active country club lifestyle.

Heading a roster of standout amenities at Indian River Colony Club is its Gordon Lewis-designed championship golf course. This private, 18-hole course meanders among the community's homes and its many ponds and natural preserves.

Finding a game on the 6,647 layout is easy; as the IRCC member-to-hole ratio is 13.1. There are both men's and ladies' associations with separate leagues as well as numerous opportunities to play in couples and mixed formats every week.

Residents may choose a game of tennis on Har-Tru courts, swim year round in the 3,000 sq ft. resort-style pool, or dine in the At Ease Club, headed by an executive chef. Dozens of clubs, social activities and private parties center on Colony Hall, where new friends are made every day. Residents also enjoy their own closed circuit television for news and events posted daily by their own AV group.

Scenery on the course includes homes, ponds and preserves.

A Different Game or Workout Every Day
Indian River Colony Club devotes 160 acres of land to recreation, including three Har-Tru tennis courts, a 3,000 square foot, heated swimming pool, two horseshoe pits, shuffleboard, jogging and walking paths, and 23 beautiful ponds.

The club aquatics area, open year-round, features a 3,000-square-foot heated swimming pool, which when it debuted was honored as Florida’s most outstanding commercially-designed pool. Special aquacise classes are offered there each week.

A pool is a must in Florida - and Indian River CC has it covered.

IRCC's state-of-the-art fitness center offers treadmills for walking or running programs, upright and recumbent bikes and stair climbers for aerobic workouts. There is a generous area of resistance-training machines and a NuStep Recumbent Cross Trainer.  

The fitness center has a variety of equipment and classes.

Nurturing Friendships in Comfortable Settings
The community’s primary gathering place is the At Ease Club—private, convenient, and spacious, it offers a well-appointed grand dining room with a dance floor and two additional dining areas.

Additionally, there is The 19th Hole Lounge, offering meeting/party areas and locker rooms as well as the new Fitness Center.

For special events there is Colony Hall, a handsome multi-purpose activities center used for banquets, shows, plays, club meetings, dances, a library, member forums, off-site gatherings, and wedding receptions.

Membership in the club was originally established for commissioned and warrant officers of the United States Armed Forces. The club’s current Deed of Restrictions designates 80 percent of its members be former commissioned or warrant officers and twenty percent former enlisted or non-military personnel over the age of 21.

Today IRCC is a thriving community of 771 homes with 13 remaining lots for future construction. The community is self-governing, and its amenities are debt free. It retains a support staff of 125 people to provide security, maintenance, comfort, and worry-free living to all residents.
