Unique in Florida

Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club is like no other Florida course you've ever seen. It is rolling hills. Undulating valleys. Ancient hardwood forests dotted with freshwater lakes. The landscape and elevation changes here are far more typical of North Carolina than they are of Florida. 

But, make no mistake, Lake Jovita is Florida at its finest. In fact, the club's South golf course features the longest natural drop of any golf course in the state--94 feet from tee to green on the par-5, 11th hole. 

The landscape and elevation is reminiscent of North Carolina.

"Obviously, the elevation change here is pretty unique," says PGA TOUR great and course co-designer Tom Lehman. "And the day this course opened it looked like it's been here for decades." 

In 2000, Golf Digest ranked the 7,153-yard South Course among the nation’s 10 best new upscale courses, and recently awarded the design No. 22 on its list of the state’s best courses, public or private. Lehman, the 2006 U.S. Ryder Cup captain, had early input in designing the South Course, influencing tee placements, the angles of play and hazards. He, no doubt, had a say in the creation of the greens and their subtle, but confounding, contours.

The North Course, designed solely by Sandness, has a more contemporary feel. Roughly 180 live oaks were planted to enhance the golf course’s natural appeal. The newer North Course boasts even more elevation changes that its sister course. Players standing on the second tee box can see for five miles.

The clubhouse features an ultra-modern fitness center.

Besides having a winning course to play on, members also benefit from numerous organized activities, from Couples golf and men's and women's leagues to a Labor Day scramble as well as the traditional Men's and Women's Member-Guest Golf Tournaments. (Note that the club is semi-private for golf while  the dining facilities are private.)

Locker rooms are first-class with full amenities, full-time attendant and shoe services and massages available upon request. The Pro Shop, which was recently named one to the "Top 100 Golf Shops in America" by Golf World Business, features a wide variety of high-quality clubs and apparel. Snack Bar and Beverage Cart services are available daily from 7AM. 

Lake Jovita's golf amenities also include a world-class practice facility with a practice chipping green, sand traps and separate teaching tee. Practice balls are complimentary to all golf members. The practice facilities host clinics and junior camps. 

The South course weaves through 220 acres.

An Ideal Location 
You couldn't ask for a more ideal location than Dade City where Lake Jovita enjoys the best of country quiet and small town charm within a 35-minute drive of metropolitan Tampa.

Just five minutes away is one of Florida's most charming small towns, Dade City. Its Main Street is lined with early 1900s storefronts housing antiques shops, fine eateries, boutiques and unique gift shops. Live oaks spread a cooling shade over the sidewalks.

The pace is slow and the mood relaxed in this city which was recognized as Florida's Outstanding Rural Community by former Governor Lawton Chiles in 1994, and named one of the "100 Best Places to Retire" by Where to Retire magazine.

The nearby Tampa Bay area offers Tampa Bay Buccaneer football, Tampa Mutiny soccer, Tampa Bay Lightning hockey and Tampa Bay Devil Rays baseball as well as collegiate sports at the University of South Florida. And every February the New York Yankees arrive for spring training.

There are plenty of golf, tennis and fishing opportunities throughout the area. Busch Gardens and Adventure Island are popular Tampa theme parks with Orlando's famed theme park less than 90 minutes away. Tampa also boasts outstanding theaters, excellent museums, superb restaurants and fine shopping. Of course, there are sunny beaches within an easy drive including two which are rated among the top 10 beaches in the U.S.

All homes in the Vistas lie along the South course.

The Vistas - Lexington Homes is building in the neighborhood. All of its 70 homesites lie directly alongside the South Course. Average homesite is 90 feet wide by 240 feet deep. Homes are a minimum of 2,400 square feet, priced from the upper-$400,000s. 

The Preserve - features 104 homesites, many of which overlook the fairways and lakes of the 11th, 12th and 13th holes of the South Course. Palmwood Companies is building homes ranging from 1,600 to more than 2,500 square feet. Homesites average 60 feet wide by 160 feet deep. Priced from the $300,000s.

Club Villas - Fully furnished, including golf cart, these 1,734-square-foot villas feature three bedrooms and two baths and are located beside the 17th and 18th holes of the South Course. Rental management is available.

The Woodlands - - Featuring views of the first through fourth holes on the South course. Homes are built by Windjammer Homes with a minimum of 2,400 square feet. Homesites average 100' wide by 170' deep. Priced from the upper-$400,000s.

The Bluffs – is Lexington Homes new area located on the North Course of Lake Jovita. With spectacular elevations and views overlooking holes 6, 7, 8, and 9 these 61 lots average 100’ wide and 260’ deep. Homes will have 3,000 square foot minimum living area and priced from the $500,000s including lot.

The Landings – Lexington Homes is the exclusive builder in this village, situated just inside the entrance of beautiful Lake Jovita. The Landings will offer seven homesites bordering hole 15 of the South Golf Course. These single-family homes will be a minimum of 2,000 square feet and are priced from the mid-$400,000s.

The Hills – Arthur Rutenberg is the exclusive builder in our new exclusive gated village of The Hills.
