The Seabrook Island Lifestyle

Seabrook Island enjoys a colorful and varied history. Originally inhabited by Native Americans, the island was first discovered by settlers in 1666. The island changed ownership 2 more times and in 1816 William Seabrook christened the island with a new name. It remains so to this day.

Golf
The golf course blends easily into the coastal contours.

Residents of Seabrook Island enjoy a lifestyle that few people ever experience. Beautifully furnished villas and luxurious custom-designed homes blend flawlessly into the island landscape. Each home, nestled among the ancient oaks and wild palms, is as unique as the natural beauty that surrounds it.

Marina
The marina provides easy access to fishing and boating.

What makes Seabrook golf unique is its uncrowded playing conditions. Unlike all other Charleston area resorts, Seabrook's courses are open only to members and resort guests. Seabrook Island offers 36 holes of championship golf on its two courses, which recently achieved the distinction of becoming South Carolina's first "Fully Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary."

Golf
Seabrook is a Fully Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.

Robert Trent Jones described his design, Crooked Oaks, as a "hard par, easy bogey," and "one of my best." Lush, sun-washed fairways thread their way through timeless forests of live oak and loblolly pine. After a $2.3 million renovation, Crooked Oaks now features the only bentgrass greens in the Charleston area.

Ocean Winds, designed by Willard Byrd, plays to 6,805 yards. The course leads through forests, past sea marsh and coastal dunes to the Atlantic Ocean, whose swirling breezes provide an ever-changing test of golf. Both courses will exceed your expectations with their quiet surroundings and challenging play.

Kayaking
Marshes and waterways offer peaceful kayaking routes.

You don't have to search long before you realize that Seabrook offers everything you've been looking for. The Island is home to three miles of wide, sandy beaches and Seabrook is the only island resort in Charleston with a full-service Equestrian Center. Residents can go crabbing at the Seabrook crab dock or enjoy the atmosphere of the Bohicket Marina Village, one of the finest deepwater facilities in the country.

Environmental & Developmental Compatibility
The special natural environment of Seabrook Island is both beautiful and vulnerable. The island is made up of 9 main habitats including ocean and salt marsh, tidal creeks and maritime forest. Since development plays a major role in altering these components, Seabrook Island ensures to minimize its effects to the extent possible and to preserve as much unaltered habitat as is feasible.

Coastal home
Homes are carefully integrated into the landscape.

Seabrook Island has several organizations devoted to maintaining the quality of life on the island including the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program, Turtle Patrol, Recreation Center Nature Program and many more. These organizations as well as Camp St. Christopher Barrier Island Environmental Education Center expand our knowledge and help preserve our area's resources.

Ocean Pointe
Ocean Pointe is Seabrook Island's last developable tract of ocean front, creek and marsh property. In keeping with the original developmental philosophy, this 56-acre tract took just over 4 years to grow from a conception stage to master plan and eventually to the market.

Magnificent new home on the golf course with ocean view.

The owner of the tract donated a 23-acre portion of the site to the Property Owner's Association for use as a nature conservatory, thus leaving 23 lots averaging 1+ acre apiece. Each lot is filled with majestic oaks winding through the wind swept streets. This philosophy mirrors the Nature First theme the island's founders incorporated over 30 years ago.

Presently there are eight homes built, leaving 15 lots remaining.

Economic Value
While Seabrook Island sits close by to the more famous Kiawah Island, the inherent cost of real estate on Seabrook Island is remarkably less. This values comes without sacrificing the beauty, security and potential upside to your investment. Elegance and innocence combined with unsurpassed value have always made Seabrook Island an intriguing investment opportunity, says its management team with pride.

Golf
Seabrook's 36 holes are uncrowded and pristine.
